Best Instant Pot Beef Stew
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs beef stew meat, cubed
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups beef broth
- 1 cup red wine
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp dried rosemary
- 4 carrots, peeled and sliced
- 3 potatoes, diced
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 1/4 cup tomato paste
Instructions:
Mix flour, salt, and black pepper in a bowl and coat the beef stew meat
Put the Instant Pot on "Saute" and heat the olive oil
The beef should be browned in batches so that all sides are browned
Take it out and set it aside
Put minced garlic and diced onion into the Instant Pot and saut until the onion is soft
Pour in the red wine and scrape the pot's bottom to get rid of the fat
Bring the beef back to the pot after it has been seared and add the tomato paste, bay leaves, thyme, salt, and pepper
Put the lid back on and set the Instant Pot to "Pressure Cook
" Wait 20 minutes
After you're done, let the pressure drop naturally for 10 minutes and then quickly let go of the rest of the pressure
Put the carrots, potatoes, and frozen peas in after opening the lid
Put the lid back on and cook for another 5 minutes
Take the lid off, let the pressure go out, and stir the stew
Take the bay leaves out before you serve
