Chocolate Espresso Layer Cake

Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup strong brewed espresso
- 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350F 175C
Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan
In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt
Stir in melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined
Fold in brewed espresso and chocolate chips until evenly distributed
Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula
Bake in preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean
Remove from oven and let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely
